Accomplishments
Here's a look at what we do.
Kindergarten Playdate
Each August, we host the incoming Kindergartners and their families for a playdate! Children meet new friends, do a craft, and listen to a story read by Principal Bell. We finish the morning on the playground with popsicles.
Trunk or Treat
Spooktacular
Each October, we host our free Trunk or Treat Spooktacular! Typically, we expect over 1000 trunk or treaters, and look to local businesses, organizations, and sports teams to decorate their trunks and pass out candy!
Holidays Around
The World
In December, we host a winter time holiday event and in 2024, we hosted our first "Holidays Around the World" bash! We rely on families in our community to host tables and share a holiday or tradition. This night included food and music, as well!
Spirit
Nights
We try to host one spirit night per year and have held these special nights at the Worcester Railers hockey games, the Providence Bruins hockey games, and Urban Air in Bellingham. In 2025, we hosted a Claytime Pottery event in campus!
Cultural
Arts
We fund field trip transportation for all grades, and help plan, and fund special programs and presentations brought into the school for all students.
June
Celebrations
Each June, we plan and host Field Day, and celebrate the 4th graders during their "4th Grade Send-Off"!
Book
Fair
Twice a year, we host the Scholastic Book Fair. Typically in September and then in May, we set-up the Fair, help students shop for new books, and then clean-up the Fair.
Birthday Book
Program
We provide funding for age-appropriate books so that every student receives a book on their birthday.
Outdoor
Classroom
We led the way for the Outdoor Classroom Initiative in the 2021-2022 school year. In addition to multiple tables, umbrellas, and rolling outdoor teacher carts filled with supplies, we hired landscapers to pour fully accessible walkways and pathways around our campus.
Chalk the
Walk
A few times a year we arrange for families to "chalk the walk" to show our appreciation for the staff at Memorial!
School Supply
Kits
Every May, we sell School Supply Kits for the following school year! It's an easy and convenient way to have all of next year's supplies ready and waiting at your child's desk!
Calm Down
Corners
We provided manipulatives for 32 classroom Calm Down Corners! Items like fidget toys, coloring books, sand timers, and other calming tools help children recenter themselves during the school day.

Run
Our first Booster Fun Run earned over $38K in October 2024!
WIN
Cart
PTO Fairies deliver goodies to classroom teachers in the winter months. The WIN (What I Need) cart is the perfect way to get teachers tissues, wipes, hand sanitizer and more!

Requests
Every month, we fulfill countless teacher and staff requests from books to classroom equipment and furniture!
Police Car
Ride Raffle
Our Police Car Ride Raffle is always popular! Parents buy raffle tickets and the winner gets a ride to school in an Upton Police cruiser!
Cookie
Craze
Every December, we host Cookie Craze for teachers and staff to enjoy a day of treats!
Staff
Appreciation
Throughout the year we arrange small tokens of appreciation for our teachers and staff! Small gifts placed in the teacher's room or a mailbox goes a long way!

Every May we cater a delicious luncheon for the Memorial teachers and staff!

In 2024, we installed five water bottle filling stations around campus!

We provide our nearly 550 students with playground and recess equipment to enjoy every day!

Our Fire Truck Ride Raffle is always popular! Parents buy raffle tickets and the winner gets a ride to school in an Upton Fire truck!

Assemblies
From glow dance parties to duct taping the principal and assistant principal to the wall... we love providing our students with fun in-school assemblies!
