Volunteer Descriptions

Want to get involved? We are always looking for more hands!

Book
Fair

Volunteers are needed to help students pick out books during their book fair time. We typically like to staff between 3-5 parents per class depending on the grade. Please feel free to volunteer for your child’s library time. You can also volunteer to help other classrooms, too. Book Fairs happen in the fall and spring.

Book Fair
Committee

The book fair committee is comprised of 3-6 individuals who are responsible for the planning, set-up, break down and running of the fair. Main duties include running the cash registers at the fair. You do not need to be present every day at the fair but we ask that you try to make the commitment to be present for one full fair day. Members joining in the fall are not expected to run the Fall book fair on their own but will use it more as a learning experience for the Spring Fair.

Family
Fun

Volunteers are needed to help plan, run, and attend Family Fun events like October's Spooktacular, December's Holiday event, and others. In the past we have hosted a Spring Picnic, paint nights, and summer play dates.

Fundraising
Committee

Volunteers are needed to collect, sort, and distribute fundraising items throughout the year. Our major fundraiser for 24-25 was our Fun Run. But we also need help organizing Cook's Night Off events, raffles, and prizes.

Kindergarten
Playdate

Volunteers are needed to help run the Kindergarten play date in August for incoming Kindergarteners. Play date consists of outdoor playtime, a story read by Principal Bell, and a fun craft.

Library
Helper

Volunteers are needed to help Mrs. Gale in the library throughout the year. Responsibilities include shelving books, changing the library display case and any other projects Mrs. Gale may need.  Commitments can be once a week, once every other week or TBD.

PTO
Photographer

Photographers are needed to take pictures at PTO and school sponsored events for the Memorial Yearbook. Volunteers will also work with the publicity coordinator to get photos for any news articles. Photographers will work in conjunction with the PTO to create the Yearbook.

School
Fun

Volunteers are needed for special events like 4th Grade Send-Off and Field Day. These events happen in the spring, typically in June. Volunteers help with planning these events, organizing and helping in-school on the day of the event and help with clean-up.

Staff
Appreciation

Volunteers are needed to coordinate this event to help show our appreciation to the staff at Memorial School. This event is held in May and is typically a breakfast or luncheon.
